This exhibition showcases 60 works by Polish artists forced to flee mainland Europe during the second world war. Some of these artists journeyed through many countries before settling in the UK, while others were captured and imprisoned before finding their way to British shores.
Leading up to the 100th commemoration of the outbreak of the first world war, the exhibition features a series of large scale canvas panels from Stanley Spencer, one of the most original and acclaimed British painters of the 20th century.
This exhibition looks at all things co-operative. For 150 years The Co-operative has grown to first manufacture and then to sell products. Its services continue to support the families and communities of the UK “from the cradle to the grave.”
