New British Future analysis and projections, based on known candidate selections in January, find ethnic minority representation in parliament is set to rise after the General Election, regardless of the political outcome – making the next UK parliament the most diverse ever.
Yet with the rate of selections of women and ethnic minority candidates stalling, an opportunity for a more significant step change on representation, in what looks set to be a ‘Big change’ election bringing many new MPs to Parliament, could be missed.
