Diversity in the next parliament

New British Future analysis and projections, based candidate selections, find ethnic minority representation in parliament is set to rise to around 12% after the General Election, regardless of the political outcome – making the next UK parliament the most diverse ever.

Yet with the rate of selections of women and ethnic minority candidates stalling, an opportunity for a more significant step change on representation, in what looks set to be a ‘Big change’ election bringing many new MPs to Parliament, could be missed.
