On the eve of the Euros, new research from British Future and the Centre for English Identity and Politics examines English identity, race and football today.
The new findings, with polling from Number Cruncher Politics including a 2,000-strong sample of ethnic minority respondents, are published in the report Beyond a 90-minute nation: Why it’s time for an inclusive England outside the stadium.
The research examines:
Sunder Katwala of British Future looks at how football changed who we thought of as English and how we move beyond being a ‘90-minute nation’; while John Denham of the Centre for English Identity and Politics writes about how we could build an inclusive English identity outside the stadium.
The government needs an Annual Migration Plan to end decades of incoherent, disconnected and unpredictable immigration policy.
