Divided Society: What could keep us together or pull us apart beyond Covid-19?

Friday 4th September, 12:30-1:45pm

Will angry debates about identity, history and race drive people further apart in the UK, or can we find common ground?

With Brexit back on the agenda and Scotland gearing up for elections, are our politics set to become more divisive and polarised?

As the unity of lockdown fades, how can we keep hold of the community spirit that many people felt as we looked out for our neighbours?

Join us as our panel discusses the challenges facing our society and their hopes for the future together:
LBC radio presenter and political pundit Iain Dale, former leader of the Scottish Labour Party Kezia Dugdale, Creative Director of the Young Vic Kwame Kwei-Armah and Near Neighbours Programme Director Elizabeth Carnelley will join Chair Sunder Katwala of British Future.

The event marks the launch of Talk/together, a national project seeking to kick-start a conversation about what unites us, what divides us, and what practical action is required to bring people together.
