Labour Party Conference 2022

Event type: Party Conference
Date: 26/09/2022
Location: Liverpool

Join us at this year’s party conferences, first at Labour in Liverpool for fringe events on race and levelling up.

‘What next for Labour’s agenda on race?’, in partnership with the Black Equity Organisation, on Monday 26th September from 10.30am – 12.00pm at Hilton Liverpool City Centre.

Since the Summer of 2020, the topic of race has remained a salient issue in Britain. As the Conservative Party have appointed the two most diverse cabinets ever, what can Labour do on the race agenda? We will discuss how Labour can find a common ground in debates around race.

Sunder Katwala will be joined by Anneliese Dodds MP, Chantelle Lunt, Rupa Huq MP and Timi Okuwa.

No

‘Empowering the next generation to bridge divides and level up’ (Tuesday 27 September 10.30am, Albert 4, Hilton Liverpool City Centre) in partnership with UK Year of Service.

Seema Malhotra MP, Kim Leadbeater MP and Stephen Greene, chaired by Andrew Dixon discuss Labour’s vision for ‘Levelling Up’ and how it can help build a closer and more socially connected Britain. In particular, the panel will explore the vital role that young people can play in helping to bridge current divides. Can local projects for volunteering and community-oriented job opportunities help to empower young people? We will also be joined by Cory, who recently took part in a UK Year of Service opportunity, to hear his thoughts on how to empower young people like himself. More panellists are to be announced.

We hope you can join us in Liverpool. As both of our events at Labour conference are outside of the conference zone, you will not need a conference pass to attend. Breakfast will be provided.

We also have a programme of events at Conservative conference in Birmingham  – look out for more details shortly.
