What do Conservatives need to do to appeal to the changing face of Britain?
Event type: Party conference fringeDate: 03/10/2023
Location: Lancaster Theatre, Midland Hotel, Manchester
In 1948, Britain’s Commonwealth subjects answered the call emigrate and rebuild postwar Britain – symbolised by the arrival 75 years ago this year of the Empire Windrush. 2048 will be the centenary of that historic moment, with forecasts suggesting that some 40% of Britons could be from ethnic minority backgrounds by that time. This event asks what the Conservative Party needs to do to ensure that it can appeal to the changing face of Britain today and in the future.
