Location: Highfields Centre, 96 Melbourne Rd, Leicester, LD2 0DS
Join us in Leicester for the Forgotten Army Roadshow, a lively and thought-provoking community event shining a light on the often overlooked contributions of South Asian men and women in the First and Second World Wars. Delivered as part of the My Family Legacy project, this interactive session invites people of all ages and backgrounds to explore a shared history that has helped shape modern Britain.
Taking place at Highfields Centre, the event combines learning with creativity in a welcoming, family-friendly setting. Through hands-on activities such as building a model Spitfire, arts and crafts, and wartime dress-up, alongside an engaging historical display, attendees of all ages can discover the stories, sacrifices and impact of South Asian service in the World Wars.
There will also be an opportunity to share your own family stories and contribute to the growing My Family Legacy archive, helping to ensure these histories are recognised and remembered for generations to come.
Registration is not required so please spread the word and bring along family, friends and colleagues. Desi refreshments and chai will be available from noon onwards.
