How we live well together should matter to everyone in Britain today. Greater efforts are needed to support and amplify the work of those already actively seeking to bridge divides, if we are to build stronger, closer communities.
The British South Asian Bridgers Project is a new British Future initiative that seeks to do this, focused on the UK’s largest ethnic minority group.
It combines research to better understand attitudes, tensions and strengths within Britain’s South Asian population with a new network that brings together and supports those ‘bridging’ voices who are working to build inter-community connection and defuse tensions.
Avaes Mohammad, who is managing the project, writes more about it here in the Eastern Eye newspaper.
