Events Manager

British Future is recruiting for a new Events Manager.

An exciting Events Manager opportunity has arisen at highly regarded think-tank and charity British Future. British Future is an independent, non-partisan think-tank working towards a vision of a confident and inclusive Britain, welcoming and fair to all. We have built a strong track record on understanding public attitudes, shaping public narratives and promoting policy solutions on immigration and integration, race and identity. The organisation works cross-party with multiple stakeholders from the public and NGOs to business leaders in order to strengthen the common ground on these challenging issues. Joining a dedicated team, you will take the lead in developing and delivering British Future’s events programme, as well as being responsible for generating sponsorship income and coordinating relationships with existing and potential partners and stakeholders.

With at least 2 years’ experience of events management in a similar setting, you will be a confident and entrepreneurial professional with strong ambassadorial skills and demonstrable experience of generating income, as well as sustaining corporate and stakeholder relationships.


1. Lead the development of British Future’s ongoing programme of events, working closely with senior staff and ensuring alignment with the organisation’s activities and priorities.
2. Plan the organisation’s future programme, including publication launches, keynotes, party conference programme and any policy conferences hosted by British Future and with partner organisations.
3. Manage content and delivery of events, including panel discussions, roundtables, conferences and
4. Generate sponsorship income to fund events, meeting agreed targets, involving coordination with
existing partners and contacting existing and potential new sponsors.
5. Draft and manage all agreements with event partners, suppliers and sponsors, negotiating agreements to ensure value for money and compliance with British Future’s charitable status.
6. Ensure event participants are briefed as appropriate on the event and their particular role.
7. Help engage and grow stakeholder relationships with relevant stakeholders across British Future’s areas of focus.
8. Manage internal databases, email and invite lists for potential speakers and participants.
9. Delivering events for the APPG on Social Integration, for which British Future acts as the secretariat.
Being a contact point for the Chair, officers and members, and working with colleagues to deliver British Future’s obligations as the secretariat.

The ideal candidate would:


This is a permanent contract, subject to a period of 6 months probation.
The salary range is £30,000 to £35,000 according to experience.
The remuneration package includes a contribution towards a personal pension plan of up to 10% of gross salary, matched by an employer contribution of the same percentage.
Annual leave is 30 days a year.
The post holder will have the opportunity to attend events in Parliament and network in Westminster.
This role includes a commitment to external training opportunities subject to the skills the post holder would like to develop to better serve the role.
Annual review process and bi-annual career development discussions with the Director.
Our office is in Borough, close to London Bridge with colleagues working a combination of days in the office and at home. Our standard office hours are 9.30-17.30 Monday to Friday but the ability to work flexibly and out-of-hours (with time off in lieu) is needed for this post.
