Event type:
Date:
Location: Committee Room 3, The Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, EH99 1SP

British Future and the Scottish Refugee Council are hosting a debate on attitudes towards migration in Scotland as part of the Festival of Politics in Edinburgh.

This topical debate will pose a number of key questions. What is the evidence about Scottish attitudes to immigration, and do they support the claims of Scotland to be a more welcoming country? What is the basis of differing attitudes to immigration and what are the implications for Scotland’s future? What lessons can be learned from Scottish approaches? Do migrants themselves think Scotland is welcoming? Chaired by journalist and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch, with panellists Professor Shamit Saggar, Professor of Politics, University of Sussex; and John Wilkes, Chief Executive, Scottish Refugee Council.
